Crazy mixed up winter November 18 and its 60 degrees ,

or 15 point something in Celeius . Some trees lost their leaves ,

some still have a full load of leaves on them and still very green .

I got some Christmas shopping done , no baking done yet .

Maybe next week I'll start the baking ,must have is apple pie and

 Christmas pudding .

I'll have to make some for the kids to take home also .

My big problem is my back, I do a little bit then I have to rest ,

 I'm old and slow .

Old and slow sounds like me as well Bug, it's getting colder here we have had our first frost of the year and also loads of rain. Christmas fast approaching I am going to a local pub with my daughter so no need to buy lots of food and of course no work which is even better. This time of the year darker longer is very boring, that's when living on your own is not so good, for me anyhow , 10 years on my own now , does not seem possible how has that time gone by so quickly ?

crazy weather here too ... no snow ( we did have 4 1/2 inches at one time before Halloween but it only lasted a few days) The temps have been going up and down like Biden on stairs. ha ha ha

Jerry has been doing windows ... washing windows in Nov. is unheard of around this part of the country

We will be going out with our oldest daughter for a buffet for Thanksgiving.  This is the second year I am not making the dinner. I thought about doing it again , but not all the kids could come anyway. Our youngest daughter works in a nursing home and she doesnt get off, but she'll have 3 days off for Christmas.

I have to start baking too. I used to do every thing in one weekend when I was working ... now it takes me half the day to make one thing, BUT i do have apple pies in the freezer.

What is your Christmas pudding again , Bug ... if I remember right I think it is what my family calls "suet pudding" ... I wanted to make fruit cake this year, it has been years since I made it .. everything is soooo expensive.

I used to steam my pudding,  now it goes in the oven.  I do it like a cake,

alot less work that way and everyone likes it . My pudding is like a molasses cake with raisins,  no one likes mixed peel or fruit .

I make a cake with cream cheese  now , for my light fruit cake, cherries,  mixed fruit and a few light raisins , no mixed peel .

The wind is cold , having heavy rain and wind tomorrow.

Apple pies still not done,  every day I'm going to make them,

 but , I'm old and slow .

The only thing I got made is the apple pies , I got to get some

done this week . I got everything else done now , most of the

shopping done , so it's cooking and baking . Some for the

church this week , question for ya , how is the attendance

 at your church ?

One time a few years ago our church would

be full on Sunday morning , now I'm sad to say we only get

about 30 to 40 people . Most of them are old , all the young

ones don't go to church . It's the same with the 4 different

religions in our area , can't keep the church's up with no

income . Some are closing , being sold for other things ,

some are just being demolished , it sad to see those old

  beautiful buildings going .

I wonder what the world will look like in another 20 years or so, nobody much going to church, if we still have any.

I'm glad I won't be around to find out Foxy , I can't believe all

the awful things that are okay now .

I made 3 doz. thick molasses

cookies and a doz. blueberry muffins today . They are packed up

and gone to my grandson .

I miss the radio, and all the nice music we would hear this time of the year . We used to have a good country station , they would play country Christmas music this time of year . I have lots on the computer , but I never play them , maybe that would put me in the Christmas spirit and I'd get a hold lot of baking done .

I also miss all the fun we used to have on the groups, posting Christmas music .

well, I'm happy to say our church is very active and there is a lot of young families .. but we also have a school and there was a time a few years ago that I thought we should close the school ... I think there were 9 kids in 5 or 6 grades, but after Covid and the things some schools are teaching in the public schools we have had a big boom in new families. In fact we just hired a new teacher and will have 7th and 8th grades added on next year. Praise the Lord.

I have a big batch of molasses cookie dough made up, but not baked, hope to get another batch  (Mexican Wedding cakes) of dough mixed up today ... I do not do cut outs anymore ... I hate rolling and cutting  those cookies ... I did it when the kids were home for them to frost and decorate .. no more

I have been watching a Amish family on YouTube in Alaska and I like they way the family all work together the children are homeschooled so kept away from some of these left wing teachers seems the best way to go these days.

Some of the family's all play and sing together , I love listening to

  them , great music .

I'm baking and baking , don't know about that mincemeat ,

its way too expensive , 9.45 for a bottle and that'll only do one pie .

I think I got my shopping done , I'll check tomorrow after the

Santa Clause parade . Cake in oven almost done and another

one will go in later .
