between the Canadian fires and the lack of rain .... the farmers are really hurting. We have so many days with NO sunshine or hazy sun, and dry, the crops are really bad. Some corn only stands about 24 inches high and all dried up already, then the field next to it can bee seven foot tall and look great. Its all in the timing.... when the seed went into the ground and when it got their first rain ... it really is a gamble .... as if the food prices arent high enough the way it is. 

We have so many "air  quality alerts" because of the smoke, some days it is really hard to breath.

Sorry that your getting all that smoke Blue . I'm on the other side of Canada

 so I don't see any smoke . We had a bad fire back in the spring , still it 

 wasn't close to me . Nothing will burn here , first it was all that fog and 

 now its rain , wish I could send some out West they really need it . 

We have lots of dead trees around , damage from the hurricane from last 

  October . If we get a dry hot summer we'll also get the fires , it won't be 

  good with so much dead wood . 

 Are you getting to any Bluegrass festivals this year Blue ? 

we were at a festival last week and have another one coming up Sept 7, 8, 9 th and I think that will be the end for this year. We were going to go on an extended trip and hit Mountain View Arkansas, maybe Branson MO, and down to see my sister in Miss. ... but Jerry needs a LOT of dental work and cataract surgery in both eyes and they have the  appointments all made up already and that takes up a couple of months .. then its getting winter here ... maybe next year will be better ... his eyesight is really getting bad so, it cant be put off any longer.

I am waiting to have my NEW recliner delivered tonight. I bought it the end of May ... they said it would take 4 to 6 weeks for delivery... at about 6 weeks, I gave away my old recliner/couch and waited, and waited for my new one .... called the store and they said, maybe it will be ready by the end of Aug .... yeah, it's the end of Aug ... sitting in a straight back chair to watch TV is not comfy.

Hurricane Lee took what was left of our summer , we had some nice 

hot days up until his visit . We  only got some wind & rain where I live ,

 but the other end of the province got hit hard .

 It's down to 65 degrees , good weather for some cleaning . I've been at it 

for the last week , somethings I can't do . I'm in a big house with high ceilings ,

I can't climb a latter no more , so I can't clean the light fixtures , change the light bulb .

 Most of my windows are high , problems , problems , I get dizzy when I'm on the 

 ladder , why or why did they make the ceilings so high .

 Lots of rain this year so far , I hope we have a nice fall .

just when I thought I cant take it anymore ... I just have to turn the furnace on ... the heat wave came with temps up in the high 70's even 81 one day, today I have the A/C on. If it wasnt for the bedroom being upstairs, I wouldnt put the air on. It gets cold enough at night to open the windows but we are both suffering with cough from ragweed ... today will be the last of our warm days, then back to reality. There is still a bunch of festivals that are going on, but we are done for the year. Camper is all cleaned out and almost ready for winter ... got to blow out the water lines and put antifreeze in the drains yet. .... then its CHRISTMAS everybody

I went to that site Foxy, and it made we want to get up and do some serious baking. that food looks delicious. I did make a carrot cake today with cream cheese frosting ... but it was for my Grandson and he came over and picked it up ... I should of taken a piece for quality control ....

The leaves are all changing and some of the trees are almost bare already

I got shots in my eyes again yesterday and have a very red eye and it feels like a bad bruise .. hope tomorrow is better

I make cakes also Blue that goes out the door , 

sometimes I'm wishing for a piece . 

 Having some beautiful weather now  ,

 around 74 in the day and cooler at night .

 Lots of sunshine , no fog , the way I like it .

 The leaves are turning slowly , in about two weeks 

 they'll be at their best . Beautiful time to take a nice drive 

 and see all the colors .

Hope your eyes are better Blue ,it's an awful thought getting 

  needles in your eyes . 

 I took some little caps to the hospital today, about 50 this time . 

 I knit little caps for the newborn babies in the hospital ,

  nice passtime when I'm watching TV .

  Also a nice brake from knitting something big , keeping my hands busy .

 That other business Blue , too early to think about it . 

LOL, Bug .. then I wont tell you I ordered 2 Christmas gifts off Amazon today ...

 baked another birthday cake today, she'll be here to pick it up shortly and another one next week .The apple trees have 100 bushels on it and they are all small, going to be a lot of work to make a pie ... too dry this year, but I'll get a few pies in the freezer for Christmas

I could of supplied you with a few apple pies Foxy, I made enough of them in the last couple of weeks

Down right COLD today, we had some beautiful fall days for awhile then Clancy lowered the boom, nasty wild wind, lost all the leaves in one day and the temps dropped. Now they are talking could be rain mixed with snow ... at least we got the apples done

She's gone boy she's gone , the temp is staying down around 50 and lower . 

With the time back to standard time ,it's dark around 5 , I don't like that .

It will be a long cold winter , with too much snow , 2 inches is too much for me .lol .

I got to make apple pies and freeze them for Christmas , it's one of the things 

 I must have . My back is giving me trouble , I fell down the stairs again , 

 not all the way this time, but I crashed landed on the floor , hit my head and 

   back .It was better then hitting face first , I twisted in mid air , got a bad fright .

Now I put my Crocs away , no more wearing them in the house .
